Big Year Eco-Challenge

The Weston Ranch Foundation’s Big Year Eco-Challenge is a fun and friendly competition to help identify and document plants and animals found on The Weston Ranch. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds tracked the different organisms found in our backyard, connecting and sharing with wildlife experts, and learning about our beautiful Blackland Prairie Ecological Region in the Marion, Texas area. The Eco-Challenge ended with about 600 species identified on The Weston Ranch between April of 2022 and April of 2023.

iNaturalist is used to digitally track and identify all of the living creatures that make The Weston Ranch home. You do not need to be an expert, and you do not need a smart phone to participate.
